Besides the pilgrimage to see the great works of art, there are some additional benefits to travel. This picture is a pizza that Marcello arranged to be made for us at the Reginella in Florence. We stopped in to say good bye before our group left the city and he quickly had his pizza guy put this together for us. It was as good as it looks. It was baked on a wood fire oven at a restaurant right across from the entrance to the Medici tombs in the church of San Lorenzo. We had just been to the Brancacci Chapel to see the Masaccio frescos and had a little more time.
